The Slow Chair has since established itself as a Vitra classic. The design uses the principle of a textile sling cover fitted precisely over a tubular steel frame. This creates a sink-in effect with just the right amount of tension to ensure appealing comfort, especially when supplemented with loose cushions.
An ottoman is available to complement the Slow Chair, allowing users to put their feet up for even greater comfort.
Available in a selection of bouclé fabric Flocca. Please enquire for future information.
Base available in a polished aluminum, or a deep black powder-coated (smooth).
Frame/cover: tubular steel frame with fabric cover stretched over the frame.
Cushions: one seat cushion and one neck pillow. The back cushions are from the Vitra Cushions collection: 40 x 30 cm and 65 x 30 cm.
Cushion filling: seat cushion contains 100% recycled PET fibres from post-consumer waste. Neck pillow and back cushions 40 x 30 cm and 65 x 30 cm (cushions with soft comfort) contain 100% recycled polyester from post-consumer waste.
Covers: removable.
Seat height: 400 mm (applied load 278 mm, measured in accordance with EN 1335-1).
Base: polished or powder-coated die-cast aluminium.
Glides: polyethylene.
Note: cushions should be regularly shaken and plumped to retain their fullness and shape.
