Kada Closure Period: December 23rd, 2024 – January 12, 2025.
A dynamic new workplace was created for Development and Project Management Consultancy, Egmont Dixon.
Located in the heart of Wellington’s CBD, the 340m2 workspace required a new office space. With a blank canvas, the brief was to design a modern and urban workplace that maximised an open, flexible, and collaborative space benefiting both the team and their clients. The aesthetic of the office was to contrast the bright open workspace with darker tones and colour to ground the overall space.
Kada worked with Egmont Dixon directly to create a functional open-plan office, that would reflect the types of work that the business manages; both commercial and residential. A space designed to balance modern living and working, as well as a place to collaborate in an exciting environment.
Aligning with the modern aesthetic of the workplace fit out, a Marina Table was added into the centre of the shared space area. The elegant legs form a beautifully refined frame that supports a sophisticated timber tabletop, resulting in a multi-purpose meeting area that can accommodate concentration and collaboration work. Six of our Softshell Chairs on castors surround the table, “the Softshell’s fit seamlessly within the space but were also comfortable and practical” – Ben Van Arts, Projects Director – Egmont Dixon.
Different spaces and furniture types allows for a mix of environments to work and collaborate. Informal meeting areas were created in the office’s central areas, complete with a timber Chicago Leaner and Noom 40 Stools, as well as a timber Tabula table surrounded by custom made Cart Stools. These dynamic collaboration spaces enable the Egmont Dixon team to provide excellent service to clients wherever they are needed.
Our Elevate workstations, with their sit-to-stand capability, were used to support the flexible work environment. These workstations feature under-desk cable management and USB charging, as well as excellent ergonomics thanks to the easy electric height adjustment. The desking was paired with The Sync 2 Chair, which combine a sleek design, clean lines and functionality, and align with the theme of darker tones.
Allowing for a place of privacy, a Bosselino Phone Booth was added, acting as a mini office and flexible place to retreat to for creativity and communication. Providing a perfect acoustic privacy solution for those quick ad-hoc calls and standing work.
The diverse range of furniture pieces chosen were an excellent fit; the furniture’s understated and relaxed style complemented the look and feel Egmont Dixon designed. The result, an empowering modern, relaxed, and urban workplace environment for Egmont Dixon and their projected partners.
