The new Qantas head office in Tāmaki Makaurau is a refined, experience-led workplace that blends premium design with strategic functionality. Designed by STACK Interiors, the 950m² fitout captures the essence of the Qantas brand not through bold colours or overt branding, but through form, materiality and user experience. Kada played an integral role in supporting this vision—providing furniture solutions that were not only high-performing and visually cohesive, but deeply aligned with the project’s guiding principles.

The brief called for a workplace that would attract people back into the office, instil a sense of pride, and act as both a hub for staff and a sophisticated showcase space for clients. Located within the newly built Mansons building—targeting a 6-Star Green Star and WELL Platinum base build—Qantas’ new workplace had to reflect their commitment to sustainability, wellbeing, and premium service. A key directive was to bring the brand’s premium positioning to life in physical form, relying on carefully curated materials, sweeping curves, and restrained elegance rather than typical corporate branding elements.

Kada was selected for the project due to its unique access to brands that matched the high design aspirations of the brief, as well as its proven ability to adapt and meet complex project requirements. Our offering stood out for its thoughtful balance of comfort, quality and value—particularly in relation to the ergonomic performance of the Steelcase Series 1 task chairs and the clean, intelligent cable management systems provided within our workstation solutions. These were features Qantas valued highly, not just in terms of function, but also for their contribution to the polished and uncluttered look of the space.

Our product selections also helped bridge the gap between hospitality and workplace design—supporting the design intent to evoke the feeling of an airport lounge. This was most evident in the townhall, a welcoming central space for staff and visitors to connect, relax or plug in. Kada’s Softshell chairs played a key role here, offering comfort, elegance and versatility. Their soft, sculptural form worked equally well in both the townhall and meeting rooms, maintaining a consistent design language while providing a premium seating experience that complemented the overall aesthetic.

Kada’s contribution was more than supplying furniture—it was about understanding the nuance of the project and delivering solutions that elevated the final outcome. From our early engagement through to installation, our team collaborated closely with STACK to ensure every element served the bigger picture. The new Qantas office is now a space that doesn’t just look good—it works beautifully, feels considered, and truly reflects what it means to be a premium, people-focused brand.
