Kada was engaged by AIA NZ to assist with the refurbishment of AIA NZ’s Head Office premises at AIA House at Smales Farm, an innovative workplace designed to support collaboration, wellbeing and flexibility. With AIA NZ placing a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, the space was carefully considered to promote both individual focus and team connection. As a long-standing partner in delivering thoughtful and functional commercial interiors, Kada’s role in the AIA fit-out was to help create environments that aligned with the project’s human-centred approach and dynamic spatial design.
Over 30 Framery One and Framery Six pods were strategically placed across several levels of the workplace. These pods provide employees with acoustic privacy and space to focus or connect, all while maintaining a cohesive and visually appealing design language. Within the Framery Six pods, Softshell Side Chairs were included to bring an extra layer of comfort and sophistication to the meeting environments. Their refined profile and upholstery enhance the user experience, making these larger pods not only practical but also inviting.
For smaller booth settings, Kada supplied Softshell Side Chairs alongside our NZ Made Cart Stools. The stools are a great addition to these compact areas, offering lightweight flexibility and durability without compromising on comfort or aesthetic. Their minimal footprint makes them perfect for these tighter collaborative spaces, where mobility and versatility are key.
In the larger meeting rooms and boardrooms, Vitra Softshell Chairs on five-star castor bases were specified. These chairs elevate the feel of the rooms, adding warmth and polish while supporting long-form discussions with ergonomic comfort. Their design complements the premium quality of the AIA House interiors, contributing to a refined and cohesive workspace experience.
A mix of Longo phone booths and four-person and six-person cabins are positioned throughout the office, supporting informal meeting zones and impromptu catchups. These modular cabins add flexibility and function to the workspace, giving teams additional places to collaborate away from the traditional meeting room.
Flex Markerboards and Carts were also included as part of the fit-out, helping to support agile ways of working across the office. These mobile tools encourage creativity, collaboration and quick idea-sharing, making them a valuable asset in both formal and informal spaces.
Kada’s contribution to AIA NZ’s premises supported their vision for a future-focused and health-centric workplace, helping to shape an environment where design and wellbeing go hand in hand.
