To accommodate a growing staff of approximately 260 employees, Mott MacDonald recognized the need to update their office environment. Over the course of a year-long project, Kada’s team worked closely with Mott MacDonald to reimagine and revitalize their office space, spanning half of the first floor and the entire second floor.
Throughout the past year, Mott MacDonald underwent a series of staged updates to their Auckland office to meet the evolving needs of their expanding team. Initially, narrower desks were introduced to maximize space and accommodate more employees, alongside implementing sit-stand desks throughout the office. Additionally, to enhance collaboration spaces, Mott MacDonald partnered with Kada to introduce new breakout areas and private meeting spaces. These enhancements significantly transformed the workplace, fostering creativity, boosting productivity, and enhancing teamwork.
The decision to select Kada for the project was influenced by the strong and longstanding relationship with Kada’s General Manager, Maurice Ward.
Maurice’s deep understanding of Mott MacDonald’s requirements, and his ability to supply a diverse range of furniture tailored to their needs were key factors in this decision.
Kada’s furniture ranges for breakout areas and unique spaces were carefully selected to complement the existing office aesthetic, creating a cohesive and harmonious environment. Notably, Steelcase’s LexCo Workstation setting, and Steelcase Flex Tables paired with Noom stools from Actiu, provided functional and flexible workspaces ideal for collaborative and agile working methods.
The integration of multiple Framery pods into Mott MacDonald offered private meeting spaces and areas for phone calls, proving to be highly successful additions to the office environment. These pods represent a pinnacle solution in acoustic performance, distinguished by top-tier quality and meticulous design features, reflecting Mott MacDonald’s commitment to providing functional and aesthetically pleasing meeting spaces.
Despite initial uncertainties about product selection, Kada was proactive and responsive. Trial options were offered to Mott MacDonald, allowing them to assess product compatibility and gather staff feedback before making decisions. This collaborative approach ensured tailored solutions that met Mott MacDonald’s expectations, contributing significantly to the project’s success and their overall satisfaction.
